Google doesn’t update Street View on request for every business or building, but there are a few ways you can influence when and how it’s refreshed:
1. Check the Street View date
Go to Google Maps.
Drag the little yellow Pegman onto your street.
- In the top-left corner of the image, you’ll see when it was last captured (e.g., “Image capture: July 2022”).This tells you how old your current Street View is.
2. Submit feedback to Google
While viewing Street View, click the three dots (⋮) in the top-left corner.
Select Report a problem.
- From there, you can request an update if imagery is outdated or inaccurate.Note: Google doesn’t guarantee individual update requests, but user reports are considered.
3. Request a professional shoot
Hire a Google Trusted Photographer / Street View Trusted professional.
They can take new, high-quality 360° photos of your business interior (and sometimes exterior), which get uploaded directly to Google Maps. You can find certified pros here: Google Street View Trusted directory.
4. Add photos to your Business Profile
Log into your Google Business Profile.
Upload current exterior photos, which appear alongside the Street View panel.
Even if Street View isn’t updated right away, people will see your latest building photos when they search for you.
5. Wait for the next Google car cycle
Google periodically drives Street View cars through cities. The schedule varies.
👉 If your main concern is customers seeing the wrong exterior, the fastest fix is usually uploading your own updated photos and/or hiring a Trusted Photographer. This does not however replace the Google Street View, which your marketing agency has no control over.
