As a past client of Identity Dental Marketing, it’s important to understand how to regain or maintain access to your website and related accounts now that our services have concluded. Please review the information below regarding hosting, domain registration, and WordPress login credentials.
⸻
🔐 1. Hosting & Domain Access
When your website was created, you (the client) established and retained ownership of your hosting and domain registrar accounts. These accounts were set up under your name and email address and remain your responsibility to manage and maintain.
If You’ve Lost Access:
• Visit your hosting or domain provider’s website (e.g., SiteGround, GoDaddy, Bluehost).
• Use the email address associated with your account to log in.
• If needed, click “Forgot Password” to reset your login credentials.
• Be sure to check your email, including junk/spam folders, for any reset links.
⚠️ Important: Identity Dental Marketing does not store or manage your login credentials for these third-party accounts. It is your responsibility to retain this information securely.
⸻
🖥️ 2. WordPress Login Access
At the time of your website launch, admin access to your WordPress website was provided to you. If you no longer have this information:
• Visit your login page, typically located at:
• Click “Lost your password?” to request a password reset using your registered email.
If your website has been unmanaged or managed by another company since ending services with Identity, any login credentials we had on file will likely no longer be valid.
⸻
🛠️ 3. Can’t Access the Website? Here’s What You Can Do
Any qualified web developer with access to your hosting account can:
• Locate your website files.
• Log into your cPanel or file manager.
• Reset or create a new WordPress user directly through the database.
This is a common method for regaining WordPress access if login credentials are lost or outdated.
⸻
🚫 4. Why Identity Can’t Access Your Website
Once our services have ended:
• We remove ourselves from any client accounts we no longer manage.
• We are no longer tied to your hosting or WordPress account.
• For security and ethical reasons, we do not retain ongoing access to client websites after termination of services.
This means we cannot log in, recover, or make changes to any site we are no longer authorized to access.
⸻
❓ Still Need Help?
If you’re unsure who set up your accounts, or you don’t know which hosting or domain provider you used, we recommend:
• Searching your email for receipts or confirmations from providers like GoDaddy, SiteGround, Bluehost, etc.
• Contacting your new developer or IT professional for assistance.
If we originally helped launch your site, we’re happy to search our historical records for any credentials that were shared with you if they still exist, but we cannot guarantee they will still be valid.
